We are in Lyon!

We left from SLC Airport on Monday April 21, 2025

Our direct flight to Paris passed over the tip of Greenland . . .

. . . and we could see the Northern Lights over the airplane wing.

Passport check in Paris, before boarding again

One hour flight to Lyon.

Mission office couple Elder & Sister Miner greeted us,
and we found 3 "small world" connections to them.

Mission Leaders President & Sister Schow took us to dinner on our first day.
They are almost as new as we are, because they had only 90 days to prepare,
and arrived just 2 weeks ago.

We spent the first jet lag P-Day exploring Lyon,
heading of course across the Rhone River to the art museum.

Dramatic sculptures along main streets downtown

We passed the impressive Lyon Opera House.

Le musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon features a spacious courtyard.

One favorite of the hundreds of paintings was this
"Le Bien et Le Mal" by Victor Orsel
an enormous depiction of the contrast between good and evil.

We walked a mile to the mission office, where the office couples
(Miners, Dinklemans, Delbars) oriented us and started our paperwork
for driving permits, visa requirements and a mission car.

Parc de la Tête d'Or is ten minutes walk from our apartment

Picture of the park and a metaphor for our mission:
we are at the beginning of a beautiful adventure
and we'll discover what is in store along our new path!
